ABOUT KIDSWIM
At KidSwim we believe the water experience begins in infancy and can be incorporated for life. Our vision for the children we teach is to introduce them to the water in a benevolent way; through building trust with the instructor, keeping them engaged with games and toys, and incorporating skills that enhance technique and create water safety.
KidSwim was founded in 2001 by Lisa Cook, a life-long swimmer and experienced teacher whose desire is for every child to share her love of the water. KidSwim's private lessons are held at your pool. Our instructors teach on the Westside, from Hancock Park to Pacific Palisades, including Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Cheviot Hills, Beverlywood and Westwood, as well as in the San Fernando Valley. KidSwim Orange County will begin offering lessons in June 2008. We work with children of all ages and abilities, including children with special needs.
KidSwim's technique is developmental, and geared toward each child's age, experience, and comfort level in the water. Achieving water competency begins with trust. Trust is established over time by teaching safe yet effective water interactions that allow learners to excel and to recognize their successes as they happen. Through a variety of customized swim programs KidSwim creates the ultimate water experience for your child.
At KidSwim, we believe having fun is the most important part of our process, because having fun facilitates your child’s mastery of their water skills and increases their desire to play in the water, outweighing any hesitation or fear. Your child will keep coming back for more until they arrive at a level where they are swimming joyfully and skillfully on their own.
KidSwim’s instructors are certified and bonded, and trained in the KidSwim method of teaching. Click here for more information on KidSwim’s classes and rates, how to sign up and KidSwim’s instructors.
